The Project

Momentous Relocation was entrusted with transporting a unique collection of high-value artefacts purchased from a renowned south London auction house. The collection included intricate antiques, delicate taxidermy specimens, and large garden sculptures destined for a private residence in Denmark.

Our Role

Our team initiated the process with a comprehensive assessment of each item, evaluating materials, weight, dimensions, and fragility, then developed a detailed plan addressing specific packing and transportation requirements for each artefact. The project presented several significant challenges, particularly in creating bespoke crating solutions for delicate items like glass-cased taxidermy birds and managing the substantial weight of two large garden sphynx ornaments.

Solutions

Our in-house carpenters crafted custom crates with precision-engineered foam inserts to absorb shocks and vibrations. Acid-free tissue paper and specialised soft packing materials provided additional protection against damage. The items were stored in our bonded warehouse while comprehensive customs documentation was prepared and approved, with our digital inventory system tracking item movements throughout the transportation process.

We coordinated closely with the auction house to schedule the ideal packing and loading times, ensuring meticulous handling from initial collection through to final delivery. The project was completed with the utmost professionalism, delivering the entire collection to its destination in pristine condition, reinforcing our reputation for excellence in international artefact logistics.
